Created by writer/cartoonist Stephen Enzweiler, DOWN SOUTH delivers unique and often biting commentaries on American life, southern culture, and our own human frailties through an extraordinary cast of characters, including the two northerners, Gordon and Maude, the redneck Bubba Snopes, the pretentious upper crust Coldfields, the voracious kudzu vines named Norman and Flo, and many more. While Southern in its flavor, Enzweiler's subtle humor irreverently pokes fun at all of us, north and south, east and west.

DOWN SOUTH is published in Oxford, Mississippi by General Rawl Media, and appears in print in Y'all Magazine and on the web at Yall-DownSouth.com.
The cartoon first appeared in the June 2007 issue of the magazine and made its internet debut on February 15, 2008. Today, DOWN SOUTH has an estimated half a million readers in the U.S. and appears both in print and on the internet. The cartoon has even has realized a following in Japan (the home of kudzu). DOWN SOUTH celebrated its one-year anniversary in June 2008.
